Das EMPACT-Syndrom, ein Akronym fΓΌr Erythema exsudativum Multiforme durch Phenytoin And (und) Craniale StrahlenTherapie, ist eine akute entzΓΌndliche Reaktion der Haut auf eine Bestrahlung des Kopfes bei gleichzeitiger Gabe des Arzneimittels Phenytoin, das gegen KrampfanfΓ€lle eingesetzt wird.

Die Bezeichnung wurde erstmals im Jahre 2004 von I. Ahmed und Mitarbeitern vorgeschlagencite-ref-1[1] fΓΌr das Auftreten eines Erythema multiforme bei einer Bestrahlungstherapie des GehirnschΓ€dels unter Einnahme von Phenytoin.cite-ref-2[2]

Das PhΓ€nomen wurde auch unter Phenobarbital beobachtet.cite-ref-3[3]

Differential-diagnostisch abzugrenzen ist das DRESS-Syndrom.
